Would you pay $5 to ensure you can ride? Snowmobile land access faces legal challenges every year, especially from groups intent on keeping snowmobiles off of public lands. Currently, there’s a legal battle going on in Idaho over snowmobile access to national forests. Whatever the result of this case, it could set a dangerous precedent for our national forest trail access in Minnesota. It’s important that any ruling is favorable to snowmobiles. That also means someone has to pay attorney fees to represent snowmobile interests. The national organization of the American Council of Snowmobile Associations has a special fund set up to support legal defense for snowmobile access. If every Minnesota snowmobiler sent $5 to this fund, we’d help to maintain our access to public trails. Donations to this fund are taxdeductable.
