Chuck’s Winter Jeep Run The annual Chuck’s Winter Jeep Run Off-Road Vehicle trail riding event, will take place on Feb. 2 on private property near River Falls. New and experienced 4x4 drivers welcome. The ride attracts a lot of Jeeps, but is for ORV rigs of every kind and manufacture from stock 4x4s, slightly modified daily drivers, and built trail rigs and buggies. The trails - on steep, wooded land - range in difficulty. Some are passable with stock 4x4s with 30-inch tires and open differentials; trails, gullies and hillclimbs are appropriate for built rigs with lockers and aggressive 35-inch-or-larger tires. Rocks, stumps, logs and other natural obstacles change every year, and even by the hour. The snow adds another element of challenge. There will be guided trail rides based on rig size and experience level. Not convinced? Search “Chucks Winter Run” on YouTube to see the past highlights.
