LONSDALE SNOWIZARDS WELCOME SAFE YOUTH RIDERS AND SMOOTHER TRAILS

Posted on December 29th, 2019 in Sledder News

The Lonsdale SnoWizards held youth snowmobile safety training this past December with 24 students completing the course.

It was nice to see 24 students taking the safety driving course hosted by the Lonsdale SnoWizards this past December. While it was cold 8-degrees, with hot chocolate and cookies to warm things up, the kids did great and stuck it out. Our club had a nice and smooth groomed course for them by our new groomer we purchased at the end of the season last year.

The Lonsdale SnoWizards is a smaller club of roughly 40 members who maintain the trails of northeastern Rice County. For years our club has talked about buying a groomer of our own. The opportunity came up as our neighboring club in Le Sueur County was going to be upgrading theirs, and offered their previous groomer to us. Through fundraisers and our E-tabs at Whistle Stop and Brewster’s we were able to purchase it.

We would like to thank the Lakeville SnoTrackers for helping us out by grooming our trails for nearly 25 years. They have always done an excellent job for us.

Though our club is growing, we are always welcoming new members. Our meetings are every third Tuesday of the month at either the Whistle Stop or Brewster’s. You can find more information on our Facebook page or call us at 507-339-4645.

Winter is here, let’s get out there and have some fun. Remember to ride safe, and if you’re down our way please visit our sponsoring businesses.
