(April 25, 2016) Rice Lake, Wisconsin – The Rice Lake Snow & Dirt Club recently completed three major bridge re-decking projects on the Wild Rivers Multi-Use Trail in Barron County. They completed the first bridge last fall, then finished the remaining two this spring. The projects involved removing the old decking and railings, adding two feet of width to the structures, laying new oak planking and installing new railings.
Each of the three bridge projects involved as many as fifteen club members, who totaled over 500 man-hours of volunteer labor for the entire effort. The projects were funded through a Wisconsin ATV trail grant, which is derived from ATV/UTV registration fees. The new decking will ensure safe and secure passage for ATVs, snowmobiles and others for many years to come.
