Eagle River, Wisconsin snow report as of January 26, 2015:
All Eagle River snowmobile trails are open, with plenty of snow and the trails are being groomed.
We are also in the process of trying to purchase a new groomer, and are doing major repairs on those we already have. Many sincere thanks to all of you snowmobilers who love what Eagle River has to offer and want to help. If you care to make a donation, we’d welcome it with gracious thanks. You can go to our website anytime for contact information and how you can help: http://www.sno-eagles.org/
The warm day time temps have softened up the snow everywhere, so it is squirrelly. Also, because the water table is high there might be slush or water in areas you want to ride.
The Eagle Lake trail and Catfish Lake loop are marked and OPEN. Stay by the barrels for your safety. Remember – -not all lakes are trails.
Alternate Trail 13S has a water spot on the east side as you ride south. It is passable by going over to the right (west).
Another great addition to the Eagle River trails is Day Trip Trailer/Tow Vehicle parking. The parking lot is located by driving north on Hwy. 45 and turning left on Bluebird Rd. Bluebird Rd. is in between Days Inn and Leif’s Restaurant. Bluebird Rd. curves behind Leif’s and that is where the parking is located. Watch for the signs.
The 100 miles of snowmobile trails are groomed and maintained by the Sno-Eagles snowmobile club in the Eagle River area and are continually inspected.
