Martin Pilots Champion®-Powered Sled to Silver Medal at Winter X Games

Southfield, Michigan, January 30, 2013 – Ross Martin and his Champion® spark plug-powered Polaris sled earned the silver medal in last weekend’s Winter X Games snocross competition in Aspen, Colo. Martin, who now has four X Games medals, completed the 16-lap final in 17:21:37, nearly 15 seconds faster than the next finisher. The Judnick Motorsports-owned sled is equipped with “Performance Driven™” Champion® Copper Plus® spark plugs from Federal-Mogul (NASDAQ: FDML).

Sunday’s final round brought together 15 of the world’s leading snocross racers on a highly technical track featuring huge air jumps and a challenging rhythm section. Martin scored a holeshot off the start and ran in the top two the entire race. “Ross was first on the throttle and the sled just rocketed away from most of the field,” said Champion Product Manager Michael Kollenberg. “Champion Copper Plus and Power Sport™ spark plugs are ideal for engines needing instant throttle response and maximum power in very challenging conditions.”

Martin and the Judnick Motorsports team return to Amsoil Championship Snocross competition this weekend at the Deadwood Shoot Out in Deadwood, S.D. In addition to Martin (Bib 837), Judnick’s James Johnstad (Bib 154) and Mike Bauer (Bib 717) rely on Champion plugs and display the brand’s iconic red-and-black bow tie logo. Each of the Judnick Polaris sleds is equipped with Champion Copper Plus plugs #RN57YCC, the same plugs available through leading snowmobile parts dealers.
